Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of examplepdf.com ("the site", "ExamplePDF", "we", "us"), a free toolkit for downloading and generating sample and test PDF files. By accessing or using the site you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the site.

1. The service

ExamplePDF provides, free of charge and without requiring an account:

• pre-made sample PDF files in a range of sizes and types;
• a generator that produces PDF files from parameters you choose (size, page count,

images, language, form fields);

• collections of test PDF files grouped by purpose (RAG/AI, OCR, parser stress-testing,

rendering compatibility, and security testing);

• a programmatic API to obtain the same files.

Files are generated or served on demand and delivered directly to your browser. We do not store files you generate on our servers, and we do not offer editing, conversion, form filling, or cloud document storage.

2. Eligibility and acceptable use

You must use the site only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms and our Acceptable Use Policy. You agree not to:

• use the site to violate any applicable law or regulation;
• attempt to disrupt, overload, or abuse the service (including circumventing rate limits

or launching attacks against the infrastructure);

• misrepresent the sample/test files as genuine legal, financial, tax, identity, or other

official documents;

• use the site to infringe the rights of others.

3. Nature of the files — "as is"

All files on this site are sample, example, or test materials only. In particular:

• Sample documents (invoices, contracts, resumes) are generic examples with fictional

placeholder content. They are not legal, financial, tax, or professional advice and are not a substitute for documents prepared by a qualified professional. Do not rely on them as real legal instruments.

• Generated and sample PDFs contain placeholder ("lorem ipsum"-style) content. We make

no representation about fitness of the content for any real-world purpose.

All files and the service are provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis, without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the files will meet your requirements, that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any file will open in any particular application.

4. Intellectual property

• The site, including its design, text, and code (excluding user-obtained output files),

is owned by or licensed to us and protected by applicable intellectual property law.

• The sample/test PDF files are provided for your internal testing, development, and

evaluation use. You may download and use them for those purposes. You may not re-host the site or sell the files as a standalone product.

• "ExamplePDF" and related marks are ours. Sample documents may contain fictional company

names, addresses, and data; any resemblance to real persons or entities is coincidental.

5. API use

The API is provided free of charge in its current form, without an API key, subject to rate limiting and availability. We may change, throttle, suspend, or discontinue the API or any part of the service at any time. Automated use must respect our rate limits and must not impose an unreasonable load on the infrastructure.

6. Third-party services

The site is hosted and protected by Cloudflare. Your use is also subject to applicable Cloudflare terms and policies. We are not responsible for the acts or omissions of third-party providers. See the Privacy Policy for details on data processing.

7. Security-test files — Acceptable Use Policy (binding)

The site provides security and parser test files (available at /tests/security and in the corresponding collection) that may contain JavaScript, hidden text, oversized constructs, or inert placeholder payloads. These are provided solely for authorized software testing — for example, validating that your own parsers, viewers, and security tooling handle untrusted input safely. The full Acceptable Use Policy is published at the /tests/security page and in the security-aup.md document, and is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Key conditions:

• You may test only systems you own or are expressly authorized to test.
• The files are not weaponized exploits and must not be used to attack, compromise, or

gain unauthorized access to any system.

• You handle and open all such files at your own risk, in an isolated test

environment. We are not liable for any damage, data loss, or security incident arising from your use of these files.

• You are responsible for complying with all applicable computer-misuse and cybersecurity

laws in your jurisdiction.

By downloading any security-test file you confirm that you have read and agree to the Acceptable Use Policy and to this Section 7.

8. Disclaimer of warranties and limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law:

• The service and all files are provided without warranty of any kind (see Section 3).
• We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive

damages, or any loss of profits, data, goodwill, or use, arising from your use of, or inability to use, the site or any file — even if advised of the possibility of such damages.

• Our total aggregate liability for any claim relating to the site will not exceed the

greater of US $100 or the amount you paid us in the twelve months preceding the claim (for the free service, this is US $0, so the cap is US $100).

• Some jurisdictions do not allow certain disclaimers or limitations, so some of the

above may not apply to you.

9. Indemnification

You agree to defend and indemnify us against third-party claims arising from your misuse of the site, your violation of these Terms, or your use of any file in breach of the Acceptable Use Policy or applicable law.

10. Privacy

Your use of the site is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. Please review them.

11. Changes, termination, and availability

We may modify these Terms, the service, or any file at any time. Material changes to the Terms will be posted here with a revised date. We may suspend or discontinue any part of the service without notice. You may stop using the site at any time.

12. Governing law and contact; no legal advice

These Terms are governed by the laws of [STATE/COUNTRY], without regard to conflict of laws rules. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
