ExamplePDF ("we", "us", "the site") operates examplepdf.com, a free toolkit for downloading and generating sample and test PDF files. We are committed to collecting as little personal information as possible. This policy explains what information is processed when you use the site, and your choices.
1. The short version
- The site is free and works without an account. We do not ask for your name,
email, or any registration details.
- We do not let you upload or store files on our servers. Files are generated
on demand and sent straight to your browser; nothing is saved on our side.
- We run no third-party advertising or marketing analytics on this site.
- The only routine data processed is standard server/infrastructure log data handled
by our hosting provider (Cloudflare), described in Section 4.
2. Information you provide voluntarily
We do not require you to provide personal information to use the core features (downloading sample PDFs, generating PDFs, downloading test collections). If you choose to contact us by email, we will receive the email address you send from and the content of your message. We use that only to respond.
3. Information collected automatically
When you visit the site, certain technical information is processed automatically as a normal part of delivering a website over the internet. This may include:
- IP address (processed transiently for request routing and security);
- browser type and version, operating system, and device type;
- the pages you request, referring page, and timestamps;
- approximate location derived from IP at a city/region level (not precise).
This information is used only to operate and secure the site (for example, to deliver the page you requested, defend against abuse, and produce aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics). We do not use it to build profiles of individual visitors, and we do not sell or share it for advertising.
4. Third-party service providers
We use a limited set of infrastructure providers. Each processes data on our behalf under its own terms:

Cloudflare may act as an independent data controller for certain security processing; see Cloudflare's own policy for details. We do not embed third-party advertising, social-media trackers, or marketing analytics on the site.
If we add analytics, error reporting, or similar services in future, we will update this policy first and disclose the new providers here.
5. Cookies and local storage
We do not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. The site may use a small amount of browser local storage for non-identifying preferences such as your light/dark theme choice. This does not identify you and is not shared with third parties. Our infrastructure provider (Cloudflare) may set cookies strictly necessary for security and request routing. See our Cookie Policy for details.
6. How long we keep data
Transient server and security logs are retained only as long as needed to operate and secure the site, consistent with our provider's retention practices. We do not maintain long-term profiles of visitors.
7. Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect the site, including HTTPS everywhere and Cloudflare's network protections. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
8. Children's privacy
The site is a developer/testing tool and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live (for example, under the GDPR/UK GDPR for EEA/UK visitors, or the CCPA/CPRA for California residents), you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or object to processing of your personal data, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. Because we collect minimal, non-identifying data, there is often little personal data for us to hold about you. To exercise any right, contact us using the details in Section 11 and we will respond in line with applicable law.
We do not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not process sensitive personal information for the purposes covered by the CCPA/CPRA.
10. Security-test files and your own responsibilities
Part of this site provides security and parser test PDF files (for example, files containing JavaScript, hidden text, or inert placeholder payloads) intended for authorized software testing only. Downloading and opening these files is done at your own risk. We do not collect information about which files you download. You are solely responsible for ensuring that you test only systems you own or are expressly authorized to test, in accordance with our Terms of Service and the Acceptable Use Policy for security test files.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be posted on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the site after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
